I started my 6-month internship today at the High Line.  The day started well, with a guided tour by Piet Oudolf.  After that, we pruned winter damage and discussed the finer points of Amelanchier pruning.  

This afternoon I was working on cover letters to go to various internships, when I noticed a red-tailed hawk sitting on the fire escape railing.  New York City can be pretty amazing.
